From September 2015 local areas will be responsible for procurement of SMS services previously provided through the nhs.net gateway. Whilst the NUG feels this is a wasteful and inappropriate change we would also advise all practices to be talking to their local CCG to ensure you know what the arrangements in your area will be. If you use a partner product for SMS messaging you should also be speaking to them about how the changes may impact.
