Speakers Announced
Dr Sarah Jarvis, General Practitioner (GP), GP trainer and Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP). Sarah trained at Cambridge and Oxford universities and became a partner in an inner city general practice in 1990. She is an active medical writer and broadcaster and is the BBC Radio 2 doctor. She also appears regularly on UK television and radio programmes including The One Show, Good Morning Britain, ITN Lunchtime News, LBC and Radio 5 live. In 2017 she became clinical director of the website Patient.info, which provides patient health education to over 250 million people a year worldwide.
Join us at our 25th Annual Conference Dinner as we hear from Dr Phil Hammond. An NHS doctor for 31 years, a comedian for 29 years, a BBC broadcaster for 28 years and Private Eye’s medical correspondent for 26 years. He qualified as a doctor in 1987, was a part time GP for 20 years, spent 5 years in sexual health and currently works in an NHS team helping young people with chronic fatigue. Phil presented five series of Trust Me, I’m a Doctor on BBC2, and has appeared many times on Have I Got News For You, the News Quiz, the Now Show and Countdown. His new show, ‘Happy Birthday NHS?’ celebrates its 70th birthday and provides a road map for its salvation.
New Venue for 2018
We will be hosting our event at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole. Located close to the NEC, Birmingham International airport and train station and situated off the M42 and close to the M6, M1 and M5 this venue has great links for all.
