Watchdog
Representatives of the NUG Committee have worked with EMIS since 2000 in joint meetings to feed in users’ problems and issues about the effectiveness of EMIS Support.
Janet Wright, Hasib Ur-Rub and Charlie Stuart-Buttle of the Watchdog Committee meet Andy Whitwam, the EMIS Director responsible for EMIS Support, and others on several occasions each year.
We send out questionnaires to a panel of practices every few months which provide useful data for our discussions with EMIS. Amongst many areas we have discussed and negotiated improvements in are:
- ECR online tracker
- the Egton tape validation service and its documentation
- user input to EMIS documentation before it is published
- backup procedures
EMIS have been very co-operative and have responded by inviting similar communication to occur at management level with other EMIS departments. Other members of the watchdog team are involved in liaising with EMIS on contracts and maintenance agreements.
