The EMIS NUG produces a number of publications to help EMIS users. These include, a quarterly magazine, EMISUser, a Members’ Handbook with six monthly updates, and ad-hoc user guides. NUG publications are produced to provide helpful information, guides and hints and tips in the use of the EMIS system as well as information on healthcare issues in general, with the aim of helping practices to improve patient care through better use of information.
Back issues of EMISUser and members Handbook up-dates are available to members only. Have you got any good ideas you think other users would benefit from knowing? Would you like to share your hints and tips? If the answer is yes, why don't you write for EMISUser magazine? 90% of articles are written by actual users of EMIS which means they have first hand knowledge of how to use the system in practice.
If you would like to put pen to paper, please send articles to the NUG office. We accept articles on paper, disk or by e-mail, good hand written articles will also be welcome! If you can include graphics, screen shots or a photograph of yourself, all the better.
If your article gets published you will receive a fee of £200 for a typical magazine article of 1,000-1,500 words, £50 for a short entry in our "Hints and Tips" section.
If you have any ideas on a useful article, would like to write for the NUG or have any other suggestions about our publications please email kmorgan@emisnug.org or alternatively submit your ideas below.
