The Education sub-committee is trying to provide information and training to fill gaps we feel we have identified, such as brief training in consultation for new consulters - practices new to EMIS, new GPs and stass, GP registrars, F2 trainees and medical students - to allow them to use the system competently in the short time available for induction. We do not try to replace more formal and thorough training.
Please look at the web-based EMIS for Beginners LV and PCS, and the video tutorial clips for LV (produced by Clive Cole) and PCS (produced by Geoff Smith - for the Scottish version: non Scottish PCS users, the differences are highlighted!)
In addition we collect useful resources in this section: articles on SNOMED-CT - you will have to face it sooner or later! - Hints and Tips, some advice on preparing a case for upgrading to Web (England only) and various user guides and 'miscellaneous files' such as articles from the old Membership pack and the Template Library.
Resources are limited - but we welcome ideas and potential donations!
When you decide to upgrade to EMIS Web, your PCT in England is within their rights require you to provide a business case to justify the upgrade costs. The NUG has developed some materials to help with the production of a business case and to form the basis of discussion with your PCT.
In this section of the website you can find more in-depth articles to help you get the best out of your system.
