Charlie is a GP in Kent . He introduced computers in his practice from scratch to become almost paperless (paper-light) He became involved in medical informatics in 1991 and gave up medical practice in 1992 to help co-ordinate the development of Version 3 of the Read Codes. Charlie became part of the senior management team at the UK National Health Service Centre for Coding and Classification as Director of Read Code Development. In 1998 he returned to general practice and joined the NUG committee in 2001. His particular areas of interest are clinical terminology, data quality and record structures. Charlie became NUG Chair in September 2007.
Hasib has been a GP since 1991. He practices in Chislehurst, Kent. His interest in GP IT started after the Practice installed EMIS in 1994. He has been actively involved in GP IT development in Bromley since 1995 and has organised, been part of and chaired many committees in that time. He has been on the NUG committee since 1998 and Vice Chair since September 2007.
